There is another Earth called Mars is a photographic series that came out of the time I spent with my children. There is a moment in a child’s life when seemingly ordinary things become important, magical, sometimes scary and often fascinating.

I photographed the places where we played and walked, as well as small fragments of nature that became objects of close observation: stones, sticks, flowers, insects and other things we found. We called them Treasures. Our home and its surroundings became a world where looking, searching and collecting sparked the imagination and allowed us to discover more.

At the same time, I return to my own childhood and remember a time when moments spent at my grandmother’s house, the nearby forest or the local playground could turn into a world of magic and adventure.

There is another Earth called Mars speaks of a world that exists right beside us, outside the window, in the garden, along the road and in the smallest fragments of the reality around us. The photographs are a record of these discoveries, but also a collection of memories and an attempt to hold on to moments that quickly pass.

Jest taka Ziemia zwana Mars to cykl fotografii, który powstał podczas wspólnego czasu spędzanego z dziećmi. Jest taki moment w życiu dziecka, kiedy z pozoru zwykłe rzeczy stają się czymś ważnym, magicznym i interesującym.

Fotografowałam miejsca naszych zabaw i spacerów oraz małe fragmenty natury, które stawały się przedmiotem uważnej obserwacji: kamienie, patyki, kwiaty, owady i inne znaleziska. Nazywaliśmy je Skarbami. Nasz dom i jego okolice stały się światem, w którym patrzenie, szukanie i zbieranie pobudzały wyobraźnię i pozwalały odkrywać coś nowego.

Wracam przy tym do własnego dzieciństwa i przypominam sobie czas, kiedy chwile spędzone u babci, okoliczny las czy podwórko mogły zamienić się w świat magii i przygody.

Jest taka Ziemia zwana Mars opowiada o świecie, który znajduje się tuż obok, poza oknem, w ogrodzie, na drodze i w najdrobniejszych fragmentach otaczającej nas rzeczywistości. Fotografie w cyklu są zapisem tych odkryć, ale także zbiorem wspomnień i próbą zatrzymania chwil, które szybko mijają.
